Based on the Vendor Matrix – The vendor walk through is based on the vendor arena matrix. At this point, you will have had time to review and discuss the vendor matrix. And you may have a favorite vendor for whatever reason. Someone on your team may be aware of a successful project and be interested in going that route with the same vendor. It is important, though, to review each vendor carefully. There has been no vendor contact yet but information gathering is important. For a small fee, ITX experts can come to your site and conduct a deep dive into each vendor in the matrix for which you desire more information.

And other Information Gathered – In the system solution profile from step 6, we have the lines of business and the key products. ITX experts can walk through and give you inside information on any desired vendor. You can then pick the ones you want to move to the second round in for even more detail. Our experts will make suggestions, based on the products, and which vendors seem to score higher in being able to accommodate your required functionality.

Pre-Qualify Some Possible Candidates – We can talk about all of them, if that’s what is needed. We can discuss the size of each vendor, what their solutions cost, based on our monitoring each of these vendors. We can discuss how long it took them to get to the first objective of putting on a new product, bring on other active products or legacy conversions, and the integration problems that they’ve each had – things that would be of importance to the project team moving forward.
