Core system scoring is an IT task. It is a document focused on the capabilities of each current in-house PAS solution. Its purpose is to answer some basic questions such as:

  • How many users are supported by each system?
  • What do the systems have in common?
  • Which ones are more viable?
  • Which products do each one support?
  • If you don’t pick a new strategic system, which existing system is best to consolidate onto?

Frequently, if you have multiple PAS systems, each system supports one product line better than the others. That is normally how carriers evolve into having multiple systems.
